A Palmerston North based seed importer needed working capital to get through the busy early spring period.
The business had grown rapidly over a few years and then had an unforseen crisis. This led to the bank not wanting to advance any more working capital as the bust season approached.
Fortunately, this business had the foresight to anticipate the fact that they would need short term working capital to see them through the late winter and early spring as this is the time of year when they take a lot of orders from big customers who stock up ready for the growing season. This of course entails taking on more staff and having other extra expenses.
We were able to get them on board with our invoice discounting system. Towards the end of August 09 we funded them over $26,000 and will be providing further funding through September and October until the cash starts to flow from their customers.
Interface has provided them with a pool of available working capital which they can access on an as needed basis.
