Case study: Keeping our roads safe

Kruzz Contractors was formed in 2008 as a specialist highway maintenance contractor. They install safety barriers and undertake slip clearances. The work flow is very steady.

The company has struggled with its working capital needs. Bank funding has been difficult to cope with the business growth. The problem is one of timing – key expenses need to be paid weekly, but income comes through monthly. The busier the workflow the more difficult the working capital position.

Interface has been able to bridge the funding gap by purchasing some of the completed invoices before they are due for payment. This has enabled the business to pay key operating expenses on time. "It was great to have plenty of work in the pipeline, but we were struggling to keep up our operating commitments as we grew", explains company director Louise Murray. "Interface came along just in time and has enabled us to really focus on production, without the constant cash flow stress. It's been a great help to have their support."
