Recession better than recovery

Recent research published by ANZ indicates small businesses that have survived the recession are facing even greater risk of failure during the recovery as they start to grow again.

One of the main reasons was that "they ran out of cash trying to meet increased demand".

"As demand slowed during the downturn, businesses tended to get by with existing working capital facilities. However, when the economy turns again and orders start to flow, funding that growth may not be possible from existing cash resources".
